Its a nightmare, all so confusiong and conflicting, dont know who to listen to, one says 210, one says 240, haynes says 240.

But haynes doesnt take into account any mods, so Im at a loss.

for instance, if ide have just read 1st responce and bought a 210, id have a molton pilke of piston by now, I like to play EXTRA cautious. I may be anoying with all the questions, but id rather be the carefull one with the running bike, than having to rebuid an engine. x

If your bike needs a 240 jet as standard, it'll need a 240 jet after fitting a full DEP system - even DEP themselves claim no rejetting required in all their sales ****e. Up-jetting usually becomes necessary after porting work has been done.

However, all that said - your opening post definitely sounds like a knackered mixture screw problem or possibly a crank oilseal leaking and letting in air, but as it runs good normally, its back to the mixture screw.

And just for fun... the official Yamaha stuff offer both a 210 and a 240 for the 3RM DTs - again, if it runs great with the 240 then leave it. Better too rich than too lean and if its revving out great it ain't too lean!

Hope this helps...
