nah it'd look rubbish with a orange swingarm, the headlight will go when funds allow for something a bit more modern along with a vapour speedo, that and a new end can, i gutted the origional but its still butt ugly and weighs loads lol. you not like the rear light as well then? its such a tiny little thing! still a work in progress but atleast it handles like it should now and everything else is just little bits really since i won't have to get the frame out again!

cheers guys, definatly taking the mad max comment as a compliament, i've always built survival bikes, this time i'm aiming for less of a total rat though! kinda like one of my old bikes

had so much trouble thinking the bike had a electrical problem, turned out the tdr carb is jetted very differently to the dtr carb though appearing the same, got super confused cus it ran fairly well one time but think that was because the float jammed and made it alot richer for a few minutes on the test run lol just changing the carb and opening up the can has made the bike twice as fast! its running a rediculous 300 main jet lol (270 is standard on the tdr!)
stuck a 330 main in it today, its still a touch lean in the upper powerband so will be trying a 340 later and maybe 350, its getting seriously fast for a 125 now though, massive grin, lifting the front under accleration in first with standard gearing, really surprised at how fast these little bikes are when you take out all the yamaha restrictions hidden everywhere, still running a barrel with the transfer restriction they put in on the sleeved barrels and yet to make up a big bore cylinder for it so more to come :)
ended up that the 350 main jet was spot on with the tdr carb, i've backed off the povervalve about a 8th, it lost the tinyest bit of power up top but the powers useable in the rest of the rev range now (and brought the powerband back down onto the rev counter lol!)
my mate just got himself a kdx 200 and got some decent tyres on it now so will be off to have a play in the mud:)
im in hemel hempstead hertfordshire, jus looked on aa route planner its bout 88 miles avoiding motorways 90 odd on motorways so prob a bit to far lol well see wen i get it on the road n go green laning see if we go out towards you my dad goes miles greenlaning so see wat happens m8 itll be gd tho
made some shorter links for the rear suspension earlier, should give a load more travel on the rear suspension and got the rear at the angle i wanted, it looked kinda squashed with the angle of the swingarm and the standard panels so kinda nabbed seiki's idea with trimming the rear panels which has got it looking like its meant to be like that, kinda, definatly need to get rid of that hoofing can which is fully on show now!

i resprung the front earlier and taken it out for a thrash, theres more travel on the front but its a little stiffer than I wanted but atleast its not bottoming out off small jumps now!
that looks proper badass now m8! how much longer did you make them links?and how does it handle now? gotta make a set of thos i think itll go nicly with my usd's as i think the front is a bit higher now. got any close up pics of the links?
cheers man, they look better from a distance!only had hand tools to fab them(and got bored on the finishing for the mo lol). i made them 10mm shorter which i think is about as far as you can go cus it only leaves a few mm clearance on the rest of the linkage, i used two strips of 5mm steel (had to have a good route around the garage for that!) and from memory the hole centres need to be 9.4cm apart to make them 10mm shorter than the standard ones, it handles well, a little sharper on the steering and feels fairly similar on the rear suspension though has more travel in reserve for the bigger bumps, the seat height is higher (feels massive compaired) though can still get feet on the floor easy enough, overall its a decent mod and real easy, the origionals are basically a template and my favourite bit is it didn't cost a penny
