should my con rod have play in it?

today i took my reed valve out to look at the conrod an i noticed that it has some play in it can move side to side slightley with my fingers.. i rang my mate up as he knows abit about dt`s aand he said they are sposed to have abit of play.. just thought id ask on here so i know for sure?? cheers for lookin

Side to side is fine, up and down = big end eating your piston (been there wasn't fun lol)

as PH said side to side is fine.
