Won't find gears...

Hi, so my 05 dtx is not getting into gear sometimes. Seems to go up fine....but on way back down it gets stuck in second. Gear lever just doesn't budge. Or it has some movement but no effect. Any ideas? Thinking clutch, clutch cables and linkages or gear pedal prob...?

Check all the obvious things first, then if you havent found it you may have to dig a little deeper - could be the return spring on the selector underneath the clutch basket.

Checked most of it out...all seems fine. The lever itself seems fine...no slack or anything, nice and springy. It just feels like something is in the way. If I was blindfolded I would say that I was next to a big curb and the lever was hitting it before it could select a gear, that's what it feels like. Very strange. But as there isn't anything blocking it, and everything else seems fine, I can only assume the worst lol. Something wrong with the box perhaps :'(

Yea I think that's happened tonneau too. Hmmm. Just seems odd that it only has a problem going in and out of neutral. Goes through all the other gears fine...? Yours the same mush? :)

yeah fine through gears jus going from neutral to 2nd, only now and again maybe twice a night, but to be honest its when i am shifting up really fast and i dont quite kick it up properly and it happens, but never used to do it no matter how fast and lightly i changed gears, also it used to be really hard to find neutral, but ive learned how to get it. Only one or 2 of my mates can get neutral on mine.
