Hey guys, i've been away for a while and haven't used me bike for a while either. I want to give my DT a major service like they would do at a garage but i'm not 100% sure on what a garage would do or what's classed as a major service, I hope this doesn't sound daft.

I did a top end re-build myself about 3 months ago, no problems at all and at the same time I went and changed the transmission oil, coolant and then a month later the chain and sprockets. I've currently got some new pads coming.

Do any of you service your own bike, is there any guidelines you follow?

Just lookin for some advice

Download the gen Yamaha service manual from the front page of this site. Section 3 covers what needs doing.
