arghh wtf. Just went to get on my bike to come home from work and knowtest some oil. So had a look and the front sprokett nut has come off somehow and it looks like its leaking out there? Piss take but glad I knowtest before I set off. is it just a normal nut or is it special?
the only reason that would of fell of would be because it did not have the safety locking circlip thing on it that will stop the nut from coming if you can gt a nut on there to get it home if you need to them would probly be alrite
humm wonder if some little f**ker has taken it off.
need to have a look at an exploded diagram to understand it. Its alrite i work at a garage so its best off there anyway.
Now its dropped half its oil i may aswell put new stuff in so need to order some of that.
Also took my tank off today to have a look at my power valve problem, got the multimeter out and there isn't 12 volts going to any of the wires to the servo when i switch the ignition on...hummm
yeah thats the one mate my mate had the same problem he forgot to put it on and pissed all his oil out think he got the nut and washer for about 7quid for yamaha
ordered the parts today and got a new oil seal just incase.
while its not working thought i would try sort out why its not hitting the power band, took the exhaust off to have a look at the power valve. Does this look right? this is it with the pulley positioned if it where fully open.
Also can i remove the valve without taking the head off? as it looks pretty coked up.
To my eyes that looks like it needs turning round 180 degrees. If the pulley is lined up with the hole, the PV should be flush to the top of the exhaust port. To me that looks like it is protruding in, should not be like that.
Edit: and yup, the PV can be taken out without removing the head. It slides out the side of the barrel.
On the opposite side of the barrel is a cap, take this off and it will reveal the other end of the PV secured by an allen bolt. Stick a drill bit through the hole of the pulley to prevent the PV from turning whilst you take the allen bolt out.
Take the pulley off and the PV can be pushed right out through the pulley end. When out it can be pulled into two seperate pieces as two pins hold is together. It will be fuggin oily and dirty :)
Edit no.2: If you find the allen bolt is tough to remove whilst the PV is pinned, do not force it as you may snap the plastic on your pulley. Instead take the pulley off and use a spanner that fits tight over the end to hold it - the way I did it in fact.

Possible did it that way when running it in perhaps to limit power and the chance of blowing a new piston and rings after a re-build, if it's had one in the past that is. Just a thought.
Hopefully one of the other guys can confirm the PV being upside down though as like a second opinion just to be sure xD
Power valve was upsidedown, also sorted the oil leak on the front sprocket so its running now, off to get another spark plug tonight as its not starting very well.
Sounds a hell of a lot better with the power valve the right way round.
Should notice the difference with the PV round the right way.
When I had issues with my bike not starting well, I stripped the HT lead back abit to expose new wire and stuck a new plug cap on the end - this one (there is one listed for RE too, I would imagine no difference tho)
Also cleaned up the contacts for the HT lead, it all helps towards a good spark and it did the trick.
If unsure mate take a quick ganders at this thread, seems like yonks ago now:
cheeers, put a new plug and cleaned out the air filter and its running better now, except 2 small problems
1/. the small metal pipe coming off the exhaust, before the expansion chamber is leaking, tried to seal it with exhaust paste but it still blowing a bit so need to sort that out.
2/ stopped after work to have a little tinker with my bike and went over a fooking nail :@ scary as hell pulling out onto main road, power band kicking in and the back wheel spinning up and drifting out. luckily didn't come off.
little update, took my exhaust off, blanked off the hole that goes back to the airbox, dunno what it does tho :/ then painted it black with high temp paint, although its come out a bit grey which is anoying. better than brown rust :)
Also bought a black visor for a brand new helmet i got given today for free :D
and finally bought a cheap alarm off ebay, nothing fancy just connects to the battery but will make me feel a bit securer.
tried to vinyl wrap the swing arm black but i gave up, too fiddly, will try again another time tho.
the flaps on the side are to mount it to the frame. There are 2 bolts already there that hold the back piece of the frame on (bolt 22/23 on this pic) as there on both sides
tail tidy is done, didn't get any pics of me making it but heres it fitted. Need to move the number plate a bit higher up, also the L plate caught on my tyre and cracked the bottom of it off, so bent the number plate out a bit more like it is in the pic.
had to get a new disk as the one of those wheels was completely bent, ordered some acerbis fork socks. and got given some gold renthel bars off a mate for a favor.
Also ordered some alpinestar SMX 5 boots in black :D and getting an alpinestar snipers jacket.
have u seen these numberplate lights http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/E-TECH-WHITE-SCREW-LIGHTS-LED-LIGHT-BOLTS-NUMBER-PLATE-/310230590034?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item483b2f2252
