Hi all...er so cleaned my bike today for a few hours and got it looking lovely but as I was taking off the panels ready to clean it all,
I thought I better check my coolant whilst I was there...looked inside the bottle and the coolant is dirty :( there is stuff floating in it. Looks brown like mud or silt from a river, but sits in the coolant like oil, ie; floats around and won't mix just forms droplets.

So I'm thinking it's oil :((((( gasket chamber fooked perhaps? Any ideas? I'll try and get a pic up but iPhone doesn't like this site cos apple are tossers. Thanks for help!

Well, it would be very hard to be oil.. theres no oil connection in the cooling systems, oil is only in the crank case.

But no idea otherwise, sorry!

.. I always put my iPhone pics onto my laptop and upload em from there..

Well I'm thinking something could have fooked itself internally and is therefore pushing oil into it...but surely it would be a two way thing meaning coolant is leaking into the engine and I'm sure I would know about that lol

Possibly something that has dropped from inside the radiator, rust or something, dunno really if that's even possible?

How long has it been like that for do ya know?

Flush it all out and re-new the coolant with a fresh bottle, then see what happens.

Although thinking about it under the pressure of the combustion it would only squeeze oil out, not vice versa.

Yeah I'm going to drain and put fresh in today. See if it gets dirty again. Am I right in thinking the drainage bolt is obscured by the exhaust?? :(

No real loss in power, dies in last gear a bit but, well just accelerates a lot slower. Thought that was a bit common and just down to milage..?

Well I think it may have been like it for some time. I remember looking over my bike once when I was very drunk and saw it. But then forgot about it lol. The bottle is stained you see, so it's only when you look right inside you can see!

Only time will tell I guess.

New head gasket on eBay I think lol

Collant and go into your bottom end, did on my yz85 , this made oil come out of the over flow, also the gearbox oil. Went like (milky) as the water pump seal had gone.
