that L plate fitting is how I have always wanted my L plate makes so much more sense but how did you make it exactly I want to do the same. Where I live the coppers love to dish out fines and points for nothing but I hate having my L plate flapping out the licence plate

wasnt to hard m8 i jus got a strip of stainless steel bout 9 inches or so long put it in a vice and put a 90deg twist in it with swan necks/pipe grips followed by a straight 90deg bend then i got a plate of ally cut it to size i think it was about 4x4in then clamped it to the strip with a pair of mole grips drilled two small holes and riveted it together  then i removed the rear brake guard clamped it to the strip the same way as the plate to use it as a template drilled 2 6mm holes and then bolted it behind the guard i done it this way so i can easily remove it wen i go racing and so wen i get my new number plate i dont have unsightly holes drilled in it biggrin
and jak2k50 i think you would hit ur handle bars before urll rip that off m8 lol

Haha wouldnt snap off filtering lol.

The rules for L plates are:

The most vertical place on the back of the bike, below the number plate.
Can be cut down, but not the red letter L.

Ah right purple yah i've seen those

According to the DT manual your 3MD goes from 89-90 but it says mines a 90 when it's not lol

I spent half a year buying 90 parts until my sidestand spring gave it all away and realised it was a 89 lol

Cheers dude iv been thinkin bout the hpires fender but I dnt like the idea of seeing the frame out in the open, dunno see wat happens

The conversion wasn't too hard m8 but I had my dad to do the hard bit, getting the mods done to the stem and the fabricating of the collars , if u font know any who can do it for u then ur pretty much fecked coz it may cost a fair bit to get it done for u

just a little update on me bike , the otherday i recieved my polisport headlight along with my new oakley goggles n iridium lense

so for the last 2 days iv been messin about with my electrics i had a problem where the charge voltage would just suddenly dropped when i revved the engine, so after some bashin my head on the wall i found that it was was reg rec is nakered so iv got to aquire another one of those, im using one of steves atm jus so i can get the headlight working properly,

heres some pics of my brand new loom cut open because i thought there was another prob with it but turns out it was only the reg rec , was not happy , it was painfull cuting it open like that disbelief

but its all rlativly tidy now but the part up top for headlight ect still needs tidying

so once i got all tht sorted i realised fuel was pissing out the overflow pipe on my carb , i was like ffs!! i really didnt want to take the carb out after a solid night and day working on it , but it had to be done so , pulled the carb out to investigate to find a load of ****e had biult up on the inner surface of the spigot, NOT GOOD!!! so i had a look into the airbox from the carb side n look what i found...

more ****e in the airbox rubber , so i had no choice but to pulle the airbox out n av a proper look, i found that my airbox wasnt sealed up properly atall!!! 2 of the srews wer missing out of the cover ( bit bit behind the very outer cover to remove the filter) , i thought it bogged down a bit after kaning throught the massive puddle at the race which i went through 7 times!!! lol there was loads of muddy water marks all inside the the airbox(after the filter) i thought to myself sod cleaning this by hand theres so many little tight spaces in there i was like sod it n threw it in the dishwasher lol did a good job aswell , oh yea i too kthe float bowl off the carb n found loads of **** in the bottom of that too and the crap must of got caught in the flot needle hence the fuel pissin out , quite lucky it did coz the airbox would of been left unsealed and caused damage to my engine.

also done a check on my 2t oil pump which need adjusting aswell , it couldnt of got anyworse lol .**** in the carb , lack of oil , its just a epic dissater waiting to happen lol!

anyway its all sorted for now

and heres some pics after the work done including a smart little clear pipe from the oil pump to inlet mani , so i can see that theres actually goin in lol

cheers for the comments lads biggrin

tht person u spoke to m8 obvioulsy couldnt be bothered to help you out dont bother buying anything from him lol these are acerbis universla gaurds alloy braced ones , they fit most bars and are quite easy fo fit , onlt thing is there prob not gott fit to well on bog standard yamaha bars but most of the dt's have renthals or equiverlent as the standard ones are as strong as mc donalds straws lol so u should av no probs m8 , defo a good investment as thay save ur hands from getting smashed to bits and save your levers from getting bent or broken wink
