tht person u spoke to m8 obvioulsy couldnt be bothered to help you out dont bother buying anything from him lol these are acerbis universla gaurds alloy braced ones , they fit most bars and are quite easy fo fit , onlt thing is there prob not gott fit to well on bog standard yamaha bars but most of the dt's have renthals or equiverlent as the standard ones are as strong as mc donalds straws lol so u should av no probs m8 , defo a good investment as thay save ur hands from getting smashed to bits and save your levers from getting bent or broken wink

Ohhh right hehe thought so mate smile I think i may give them ago, just thought they'd suit the bike alot because they're the alloy braced ones, red with white logo wink I'll nip down my local mbike shop they let you try before you buy and will hopefully advise me if they fit or not, cheers Bradd3rz biggrin

I used the original dt stem that joins the yokes together on the usd yokes so I could use the standard dt steering head barings , so didn't have butcher the frame, if iv understood correctly what your saying then u have near completely ****ed your frame m8 , I couldn't tell what size barings u need with out me being there to take measurements, u need to measure the outer race diameter and inner race diameter ,so... The bit wer the baring goes in the frame and the diameter of the stem, u get what I'm saying???

Hi guys

Great forum here nice to see fellow dt owners helping each other out

I am new to this forum' well i say that but have come across and followed it over the years, makes very intresting reading.
I am a outboard motor machanic who loves the old 2 stroke motors and have had 2 stroke bikes over the last 10 years most of which i have brought back to life these are just a few, aprilia af1, honda cr125, aprilia rs125, kmx125, and now on my second dt125r

I think smiler means he has bashed out the inner race ( that holds the bearing in the head stock?) i replaced all the old ball barings in my first dt for roller bearings what a job that lol. need to do my new dt aswell grrrr, least i know what toOls i will need this time

My new dtr is a 1993 model rebored to 150cc 3 months ago so i was told which when i had to do the head gasket the condition of the piston and barral confirmed this which I was pleased about as most things i buy like outboards n bikes come fully serviced pmsl more like never serviced, never take some ones word for it check and re service it before you use it!
My dtr also has the new power valve system on it which the prev owner was saying its a four wired power valve unit that cost him nearly 400 but i have never heard of 3 wire / 4 wire power valve unit has anyone else? thought there was only one type of servo ect

Most pepole on here are saying it's a 3 and 5 wire servo. Im not sure what years have 3 an 5 wires though.

yea thats right just had a look and it has 5 wires the lad reckons it puts less stress on the top end but never heard anything like that before, plus i cant see how it could put any less stress on the top end? unless it runs the servo smoother but saying that it goes like a rocket, its hard to keep the wheel down when pulling away fast my old dt with standard engine and pinned open power valve wasnt no where near as qruick as this one neither was the kmx and there ment to go better but then there a smaller bike so less waight

dunno m8 just noticed it had started to blow, think it was wer iv picked up the back of the bike wen i was on the right hand side n used my hip as leverage on the rear panel n that prob finished it? only thing i can think of. that maybe n an impurity in the pipe itself had weakened it?
