hi so yeah i start my bike up with choke on for 10 minutes with a bit of rev to get her warm, i ride her with out hitting band untill shes hot for a few minutes then when i try to hit band the exhaust seems to like pop then it will cut out then i will have to clean plug to get her to start again then te same will happen, help needed asap, if someone could tell me how to sort this i will be very very gratful
10 minutes of choke sounds excessive which could be causing the plug problem. It has been known for plugs to get a "whisker" across the electrodes which will make the engine pop and is sometimes caused by poor 2t oil.
a odd one to check if you keep you bike outside, after all the snow and ice had thawed out found about a litre of water sitting in my spannie (yes i still have coolant ;) )

I gotta get me an exhaust bung for when im jetwashing my ktm!!!
Dont forget when i did my rebore etc, mine wasnt hitting the powerband either until then I twisted the powevalve 180 degrees round, that solved that problem just a idea might not be the problem!!!!!

I have an 06 x. How do i turn the pv around? i can't seem to sus it out? any help would be appreciated. cheers lads
it might be the right way round already, if not, pull the cover off the N/S (2 allen keyys) then set it to fully open, take the exhaust off and look up the port, if its a completely open passage to the cylinder then there's no need to change it, if not slacken the cables from the servo off, undo the bolt on the plastic pulley, prise it off carefully, now twist the metal tab thats attatched to the P.V (might need pliers to get a grip) while looking up the port untill it is flush (fully open)

Right that makes loads more sense :D just how do i set it to fully open?
Hey mate, the PV is fully open when the hole in the pulley aligns with the hole in the PV casing. At this point you can check up the exhaust port to see if it needs turning round.
Set it to fully open be slackening the cables and manually turning the pulley.
That is great thanks! had another look today and the adjuster on the left hand cable snapped! found a website that does loads of genuine parts for the dtx and re, 15 quid! Dont get paid for another week so I'll buy one then and see how it goes, thanks lads :D
