Everything mate, what can be scored is scored, what can be ceased is ceased, whatever could get sheered is sheered.

Might ship it off to Bob Farnham and get it race tuned, whtever can be done wont be cheap

Are you in the west midlands, there is a place called Jetbore uk, he deals with allot of race motorcross bikes and will do rebores/ sleeves for cheap(rebored my barrel for £20 and made it 1mm bigger) then for gaskets i used BJ Bikes in Willenhall, £17 for complete engine gasket set, just incase you need to split the engine or do just the top end, found it cheaper to buy a full set.

a full rebuild wont cost more than 300 in parts imo dts are one of the cheapest bike to do a rebuild on

Thanks mate im in London, tbh with all the framework im now gonna have to do I cant be asked to fraff with the engine. Would rather just send it off to the experts.

I'll save and hopefully by summer i'll be back on the road

Seiki - I'll rebuild it for you, cost of parts and rebore only. I am not an expert by any means, but I've built plenty of engines in the past - both two- and four-stroke variety. Offer is there if you want, I'm in West Sussex near East Grinstead.

Right change of plan again, picked engine back up as it'll take too long to afford that.

Gonna do it myself and looking forward to it ( you live a ways away Malc mate), Cheers Robin ive PM'd you about those bearings and seals. Also cheers for the crank link, will get that too.

Been thinking about the big bore especially since Bob said he'd only go up to 140

I priced up the complete bottom end for the DTR £295.16 to the enny in parst not including gaskets. I'm looking to lower that by a lot

Good on you - its not that difficult and if you can manage a full bike build you'll manage the engine too. The Haynes is good assistance.

Be sure to keep a running diary online of the strip/rebuild!
