hey guys, ive bought a dt125 with the air/mixture screw completely ripped to shred and i wont come out anywayz the bike bogs and doesnt run without choke now so im guessing the air/mixture screw has caused that, can i just upjet so compensate and if so what is my best bet size jet to stick in there, ive currently got a 210.

Also... my carb slide sometimes sticks in place and the wall on the carb slide are warn and scuffed, should i attempt to rub these down with some really fine sand paper or is that a no-no.

ERM , ive got a 230,240 main jet , 58.40 bore and a full deep.

Also , yea 1200 it down a LITTLE bit , and some polish wouldnt do any harm , unless you can it well to much might get a bit of play ?

Changing the main jet will make things worse at the top end. The mixture screw and the pilot jet control up to quarter throttle, that's all. If it wont run throughout the rest of the throttle positions then there could be other problems. Check the needle position as this looks after the mixture between quarter and three quarter throttle. The circlip should be in the middle slot. Lastly, the main jet will only control the last quarter up to full bore.

Polishing the damage out of the slide is no problem. The only important part of the slide is the cut away at the bottom, but make sure there are no air leaks on the attachment plate, whether it is a screw-on or has fixing screws.

Good luck and hope this helps.

I honestly dont know and I dont want to take a guess that might not be right. I see from your other posts that you are looking to replace the carb and I reckon that is the right thing to do if you cannot get the mixture screw out and replace it.
