Clock Over Reading

Hi all, first off great forum and i've had loads of usefull info over the past weeks so thanks guys.

Got a bit of a strange one and  I can't seem to find any info on the problem so I wonder if anyone can help. I bought a 2002 dt125r recently and the mileage is over reading by roughly double, so a 5 mile journey for example clocks up about 10 miles on the clock.

The speedo and rev counter are both fine. I've had the clocks out and  it does look like someone has opened the back up and had a look but obviously hasn't been able to fix it.

I haven't tried a new cable yet which i suppose would be the easiest fix but it i'm not sure a faulty cable could cause such a problem.

Anybody had a similar problem or can shed any light?

It's because the clocks read in Kilometer's NOT mile's mate.....so what ever you'r clock say's half that and you will roughly have the mile's your DT has done!smile

Hope this helped and here is what 1 kilometer is:

1 kilometre = 0.621371192 miles (google lmao)biggrin

Hi mate, thanks for the reply.

It definately says mph on the clock and i'm sure the speed is in mph. So is it that the speed is in mph and the mileage is in kph?
