no probs m8 n wat u wanna pic of?? the end of the legs wer the axle goes? i can get the stem pressed in for u m8 wont cost alot atall tenner-15 quid?
also i can polish the forks up good n proper if u want?? ill do it free as a lil test lol should come up real nice now i got proper sissal mops X P plus it gives u a good excuse to come up n go for a burn with me n steve
yer were the axle goes please mate and any chance u know how thick the axle is iv been sercing online for houres now trying to find info out about the spindles and cant find nout.
and sounds good to me man haha i need to make something so i can attach them to my bike and get em over to you. lol
what year are your ones man and just wondering how much did u pay for your spindle and front wheel or did u get it as a hole lot.
dt axle is the same but too short, cant remember tbh m8 i got parts indiviually aswell btw the wheels for our ones are quite rare theres a few on ebay but mostly from the states : ( the ones tht are in the uk are way overpriced all the wheels from uk are rotten to **** : (
so how comes you couldn't get a yz axle and then slid it throw a dt wheel?
are the disk's difrent sizes iv been looking just in case and i think disk's from the 2001-2004 yz's looks the same as the dt ones so if the yz ones are bigger fiting that one should make the disk work then i just need spacers?
XD im geting excited soon ill be rideing a high up stallion like yours haha
lol more like a tall donkey lol i wanna big 4t these days : ( after riding my dads exc250f lol
i brought a wheel to see if it would fit but it was from a different yz, i brought another which fitted fine,
the discs may be all the same size outer dia but the hubs are different, ill get some pics up tomoz of the other hub i got n compare it to the one on my bike urll see wat im sayin,, all l8r hubs are bigger than the old ones we got, steves one is bigger than mine hes got the l8r forks plus there from a bigger bike
yea thts it the bolts in the disc wer like that but i cant remeber y i had to use the yz wheel n not the dt one it was quite a while ago now lol but there was defo some reason for it lol
the 450s and possibly the 250 axles wer thicker for sure tho
im not sure ill line it all up when i get the forks eather my dads pickin them up tomrrow or wer going sunday so well long away. lol if its just the spindle is thick ill get a yz spindle and get my mate to lathe
Toy I think you missed this on the other thread, but you say you can get a spindle made up? I could do with one same as the DT one but about 10mm longer mate.
nev not sure if i need one yet but if i do end up geting a longer one ill get a quote and let you know mate.
so i went and picked them up today got the yokes so so happy it does need new seals witch isent really a problem.
got home and put the spindle in with the wheel as bradders said the spindle is the same size as the dt one so it fitted throw and skrewed up on the outher side but might need a longer one wonce i test it with the spacers tomorrow.
yz front caliper £30-50 fork seals £12 for dust seals £8.94 dust seal retaining clip £1.94 x2 fork oil £8.29 not sure how much u need for 2 for legs stemp pressing into yokes £15ish i think longer bar risers £10 clock's and headlight brack £5-15
sofar the spindle looks like it will work but wont skrew in far anuf
this si how far it should skrew in to be tight and good
this is how much it is skrewing in
i have 2 or 3 spear spindles so for know am going to get my mate to lathe down the distence marked in red from the bit marked in green so it will slid throw the wheel farther and then bolt in correctly
this is how much it sticks throw when its done good i might allso make the threading longer on the spindle so i can wack a locking bolt on this but sticking out so theres no way it will come out
the outher thing is i might have to get anuther dtx spacer made or try and get one and grind it down a bit and then pack the speedo reader side out as it isent siting central.
been looking at photo's of the dt axle and the yz axle and thinking they look the same so had alook on ag suttons and turns out there exactly the same so i have a spindle and arfter looking at it today wile im awake i dont need to cut the spindle down or mill it i just need a spacer for the caliper side.
or grind down the part arrowed in black so the distance from the red arrows gets wider then the wheel should line up and the original spacers should work
if its same as mine Toy, I put the original TDR spacer on plus made another from some 20mm tube I had at 7mm to add to that on the caliper side, (that was enough to move the disc away from the fork) the standard front DT spacer is not only too long, but the O/D is a couple of mill too much to sit inside where the bearings are, so have ordered another DTR front spacer, so I can shorten it to the same length as the TDR +7mm, and turn it down to the same O/D as the TDR one, I also got a second hand spindle to turn down about 6mm off the collar on the speedo size, if the 19mm hex head sits too far into the fork clamp, I'll tap into it then loctite a m8 bolt into that.
im trying to fit the sm wheel first as by the time i get the money to get it fitted ti will be warmer and i would want it smed XD this is the spacer im going to my mates on sunday and going to get him to try and make me 2 new ones as i cant find one on eaby and not paying £15.
then ill slowly grind it down untill it fits perfectly XD allso that is what i was thinking of doing is lathing down the collor part down to spindle size to make it longer i still might take a few mill off see how it goes.
if it gets to short you dont need to put a nut in it if you undo and remove the plate you should be able to lift the it out anuf to use a spanner to undo it that was it will sit in there perfectly XD
wer does deeteemx get all this from eheh he has so much goodness. i was thinking of just takeing a small amount off so it will skew into the forks ferther
