got up this morning and it wont idle will drive and run at over 3 k revs but when I let the revs drop it just drops to dead lol. There's oil coming out of where the plug is and out of the silincer !
It says in haynes manual the spark plug would be oily from over lubrication. So too much oil in bottom end ? I think oil change and a new spark plug are in order one of thoose iridum ones.
just went halfords got a new iridium plug and some more 2 stroke oil. I'm pretty sure its because its over lubricated and yeah its not tight enough just letting it cool down and having a cup of T then I'll go and investigate then post results
right all sorted, newb mistake didn't tighten spark plug enough which oil was leaking. when i took out the plug it wasn't oily try and black/brown but not badly so mixture maybe a little rich. But a little rich is better than weak on a 2smoker so all good only down side higher full consumption but idc. Put a new Iridium spark plug in (actually tightened this time) and All sorted Idling perfect feels quicker. And no boging out when put revs on after idle. So all good !!!! zoop mate try that If that dont work take off your carb check your jets could be blocked. hoped that helped mate
oh yeah Just got back after jumping on my mates pretty much new ktm 640 prestige supermoto OMG think you got power on a DT.. just lol !!! now my bike fees like a PW50 lol
dealer conversation about iridum plug: "Hi, can I have an Iridum Plug for my DT 125 R please?"
*dealer looks blankly at me.. and says*
"No, they're a pointless waste of money unless you're on something around 600cc, 125 2-strokes go through these faster than standard, they're more expencive and only actually make a 0.00000002% differnce to the bike.. absolute waste of money, so i'll refuse to sell you one and give you the standard NGK plug."
"right... ok-then, thanks."
I actually went somewhere else and got an one, and to all avail, he was right. D;
Lol he is, tbh they're all arrogant as heck down there, stuck up there own asses just cuz they run a bike shop, which infact, isn't even that good a place.
