hi mad max in cyprus with 170cc athena kit fitted 3yrs ago now done 10.500 mls decoke at 8k bore ok standard cogs/ same carb. giannella ex. pulls like a train dont fade on hills.do my own oil mix.wont rev above 8000 in top thats giveing me130 klms p/h so with bigger carb more revs , but do you need it no. thats why engine as still good you have the power in the lower gears .ps bike had only 2k on the clock when i fitted the kit so bottom all standard hope this helps madmax ..

i think like 45 rear and 17 front would be qite a good ratio m8

So you yz125 does 2-3 k on rings LMFAO

Thats some talk , maybe 500miles lucky but 2-3k

Need a new bottom end by then , more like been re built 20 at least

I have a ported Athena fitted into my TDR. Ive had no problems with it

Hi, i have athena 170cc, and yes it gives a lot of torque. I dont get why ppl say this is waste of *money*, since its cheaper atleast than athena 125 kit, so basically u get a lot of more torque with less money.

 

Thing to remember is that this kit doesent bring the peak power for this bike, whitch is around 26hp i think, since the lenght of the stroke doesent increase. This kit does run with 28mm carb easily. Thought i have 32.

And yes, i had to rebuild the engine anyways, id consider twise on getting 170cc if i had already running 125.
