Anyone running a Dellorto carb?

I have a couple of Italian Belgarda spec TDR's in bits at the moment, i'm making one good one from a couple of dodgy ones.

They run Dellorto PHBH 28 carbs and was thinking of running the spare one i have on my sumo DT, anyone had any experience of them on their DT's?

I've had a bit of a nose on the net and they come standard on a few 125 sports bikes and the KTM that runs the DT engine, any other info appreciated!

I'd say they're just underspecc from the standard DT one, not really much in them to compare differnces to tbh

I thought i might see a bit of a performance increase over the 26mm Mikuni thats on it.

Not worth the hassle of the changeover then?

Isn't the standard 28mm? If it's 26 then yeah there will be a slight power increase as it'll allowe more airflow

The older models had a 26mm with a round slide, later ones were 28mm flat slide.

don't have to use full power to gain advantages from a bigger carb, it'll boost power from the moment i pull back the throttle

My DT is an early 02 model, any idea what's on it carb wise? I've not checked but the Haynes says it has a 26mm Mikuni, i know Haynes manuals can be wrong from previous experience though!

If you want to fit a dellorto you will also need the rubber inlet from the tdr.I believe the dellorto works better than the mikuni 28 as long as you have right jetted.
Main-145
Pilot-45
Choke-60
Spray-266
Needle-x18 3position

I've just stripped and cleaned the Dellorto and had a look at the carb on my DT. I'm guessing it's a 28 as its a flat slide, it's a little oxidised, can't see any markings on it.

All of the above looks familiar Gasto but i've just put it back together so dont fancy double checking, might give it a whirl and see how it goes.
When you say the needle should be in the 3 position, is 1 at the pointed end and 4 at the flat end?

Edit* Just had a quick look and its running a 142 main, 45 pilot, 60 choke, 200 spray and X 24 needle at 3 position if it's as i mentioned above.

I didn't ride the bike the carb came off but someone managed to crash it so it must have been running ok...

I have two dellorto 28 bs which came from a tdr bergarda and they both had the same settings.3 position for the needle i mean from the top of the needle counting down the positions.
