Compression questions!

Afternoon gentlemen.

Just decided to do a compression test on the DTR, and it only came up as 85psi....

The reason for my question is when i had my Mito, if the compression was anything below 110psi the rings needed changing.

Really all I need to know is what sort of compression should the engine be running? 85psi seems really low to me!

Cheers

not sure on the PSI, but I'd say thats about right...cuz for 1 the mito has a much powerfuller engine than the DT, so 110psi+ for that would be understandable DT top speed 95mph (in most cases) mito 110 - 115mph. Alotta differnce in speed and power.

The compression ration is 6.8:1, so 15psi (atmospheric pressure) x 6.8 = 102 psi.
When you test, make sure engine is at normal temperature and throttle is wide open.
Hope this helps.
