1992 dt125 r fuel problem

Hi all

just come across this site & thought i would post & see if anyone has any ideas on how to solve a fuel problem i have.

I have recently brought a 1992 dt125r to restore, there is a nice healthy spark & the bike fired up last week but after travelling about a mile it bogged out & has not started since.

I have stripped carb cleaned the jets etc, cleaned the air filter & cleaned the pertol tank through as the last owner had this sat in his garden for 3 months.

i have put it all back together but it still wont start? there is a nice spark & the fuel gets to the carb but the spark plug remains dry? i have removed carb again & checked there is suction from where the carb connects to the motor when i kick it over & it does seem to suck but still no fuel getting to the spark plug??

sorry to make this so long just wanted to explain fully the problem i am having in the hope someone may have a solution or at least give me an idea of what to look at next.

Cheers

have you tested the compression ? could be a faulty seal or gasket

Ok, so fuel gets to the carb. Is it getting into the carb? Try removing the float bowl and then reconnecting the hose and turn it on. Operate the needle valve by raising and lowering the float assembly. If the fuel is getting into the float chamber remove the jets and make sure they are clear. All you can do is systematically work through the intake system to find out where the blocakage is. If the plug is dry it is unlikely to be poor compression, as this problem tends to manifest itself as a wet plug. Good luck, hope this helps.
