hi all new to all this bike stuff, right i got a spark there petrol coming through the carb, there's compression but it seem's to be getting worse, i have tryed to bump start the bike but nothing, any idea's please help??

tryed putting some fule in the spark plug still nothing,

basically ive got great spark and there is fuel in the carb and the carb is clean. i keep kicking it over and it dont fire up, any other ideas??
Also i have the power valve unit that is not connected and is not on the bike ( it was in the box of bits )
it has 3 wires, 2 wires on a block and 1 bullet connector all wrapped in a red sleeve. would this be why it wont start?
Also cant see where it would plug into on the loom
Please help me as im running out of ideas
ive got a online manual and cant seem to see it well as the pics are crap.

plug is wet and it has new fuel and carb has been cleaned. im just trying a differeny spark plug but still nothing,

Basically i saw the bike running a week before i had it.
My mate took it to his step dads garage and he potched with it and took most of the electrics off i.e the power valve unit, the lights, indicators etc..
i think i found out what it is though, its a great spark and getting petrol etc but the compression is getting worse and i can push the kick start lever nearly all the way down with my finger now, which i couldnt do a week or so ago. So that is my next step i suppose?

i really hope someone could help or maybe if there is someone from swansea that could have a look at my bike that would be amazing,, thanx jon,

Hi Jony welcome to site :)

If compression is getting worse it might indicate a problem with the head gasket, possibly the piston/piston rings. Would you have an idea the last time they were changed?

Are you able to take the head off the barrel to inspect?

all the best

One thing it may be worth knowing is that most two stroke motorcycles can and will eat spark plugs. My DTR has already! I've had it a little over a month and I've replaced the spark plug twice.

I've always run the mantra of having at least two spare plugs at all times, whenever I notice a drop in the performance I usually pop a new one in there. If the performance drop is still there, you can begin to look elsewhere.

As my current situation stands, I did this, changed the plug and the performance was still pants, so I did a compression test, found I only had 85psi compression in the head, and promptly bought myself a new set of rings and a top end gasket set :)

Its not unheard of for someone to fit a brand new plug and it go straight away.

what condition is the bore and piston, look up the exhaust port with a light

what condition are your reeds in?

check your choke works properly by removing it?

fuses?
