bike moves spedo doesnt

ive had my dtr for about a week now the bikes fantastic but the speedo is dead I disconected the cable from the wheel and span it in a drill and the dile moved so I guess i need a new speedo gearbox. is this a problem that i can fix and if not  how much do they cost. thanks everyone

u need a speedo drive there not much i think one was sold  for like £4 the outher day and welcome to the forum mate u shoud put some pic of your bike up mate

thanks m8 good to be on the forum does your bike have a kickstart? mine has nothing but a black plastic disk where the kickstart should be there a life saver when the battery goes dead

im guessing u have a dtx/dtre i have a older modle dt mine is a 2002 so i have a kick start and no electric start people was talking about it u might be able to put a kick start on your bike but i might have to split the enging im not to sure

Yup can be done, just means taking the side casing off and installing it. It's good to have both.
