Its doing really well mate, no scratches no chips even with the off road mayhem weve been doing, could of done with more lacquer thats it but still looks fresh
Time to loose weight on the bike, every bit of metal not needed is going. Changing the swinger and rear wheel, maybe changing the sidestand, like the way the ktm 1's are.
Get a lighter front suspension ?. Idk if you already have DEP exhaust but it weights like nothing xD. Remove the oil tank and mix in the fuel instead. Remove the handle for the passange.r Remove the passanger foot rests. Remove the battery and just kick start it ?.
Update time, its been a while but I'm still here, still tinkering with the DT.
I picked up some DTX wheels today, i wasn't keen on going sumo when we built the bike but after using it on the road it feels sketchy after 60mph with full on knobbly's. Nasty shake going on. Going Sumo does make the bike look a lot better. Not complete as i need to mess about with the front spindle to get them to fit the Yz forks.
I got my hands on bradders old rear panels and I've started to cut them down, I've tried to make them look different then the norm. I think it will look good but not finished yet. Heres a sneak peak.
You wait till you get it all sorted Steve, you'll really notice the difference, I had to have a stainless spindle made to suit my front wheel, see if Bradders can knock you one up? coming on nice that is mate,
Cheers nev. I was planning on asking brad but i feel I've asked too much of him already. Ive also got to make a calliper mount some how, haven't really checked yet.
does look the dogs with the sumos steve-o!! post up tht pic of the half n half rim wen we painted it ; ) lol i should be able to knock a spindle up for ya dude no probs jus standard dia with chunky ends to fit in the forks. ill get a battery for my vernier n we'll sort it out.
I don't mind mate, if you want me to - pm me, I'm just figuring out the other side atm, the screw is right where i want to cut it so might cut round or make a different mount point for it,
The right side will look awesome, bradley has sandblasted the end can on the stubbed big1 and its polishing up nicely. It will poke out from the section i cut out.
