course you can m8 ride it proud if it looks the part all your own hard work thats gone in to it iv had loads of compliments on the age of my bike an conditon its still in plus i specificly looked for a 89 90 91 92 or 93 model with the unrestricted cdi ,
theres the 03 plate
on the estate i wouldnt even swap him if he offered me cash on top for his nail

Cheers Trip mate, its kept me busy for the last year nearly, when it really should have taken about 3 or 4 months I reckon, but have had to take things slowly, I had my 3rd major heart attack about six years ago, and a heart operation after that, and then bugger me, early last year I came down with something called ITP which is near as damn it same as leukemia, but not carcegenic, although I was having chemo therapy up until Christmas, so aye the project been a good thing to keep my mind off other stuff I suppose,

Oh aye have thought about doing what you say with the rear side panels, as I kept my old ones from when they were Blue, are sprayed up Blacjk now so might just have a go at chopping thenm, luckily the chop will line up with the green tank stripe, I reckon.

God you've been throught it havnt ya, Hope your ok now then m8. Thats everymans worst nightmare i think, to right tho keeping yaself busy all that positive thinking you did probably helped a lot m8 .

it would look nice if you could follow the angle of the tanks stripe

be carefull of the coolant bottle tho

iv taken mine to high when trimmin really  on my black one  had to remove the expansion bottle  cos it was just hanging there fully visable

im in two mind on where im goin myself whether to have a full diagonal or just like the white wheeled bike

Well SM wheels back on with new lengthened spindle,( Toy keep the 25mm thread length, just add 13mm to the shank, making it 190mm instead of 177mm, if your going to make a new spindle. The thread now comes out the forks by about an 1/8th")

Disc's been resprayed green again, as it got scratched sorting out the bracket.

And I reckon that the rim tape  gives it that decent finish. Just need to find a larger front disc that fits the DTR hub, so I can keep the twin pot Brembo caliper on, for when I want to change over to Enduro wheels, otherwise its a ballache swapping back to the single pot standard DTR caliper, each time.

Cheers ta Karney mate. Just took it out for a quick run to test the brakes, alls good, handles well. Had to be careful the last time I had the SM wheels on, as the thread on the spindle was only on a couple of threads inside the fork. Just a bit of snagging work to do paintwise, and a couple more decals to finish it, I reckon.

Aye the black wheeled one looks beter in my opinion, but its running with a hpires arse end too which looks good, pound to a penny its a Portugeezers bike I'm toying with the idea of banging an RE rear mudguard on mine, as I like them, and then see about profiling the rear panel with that,
