i got told my standard was allready gutted but i dont think it is so im planing on cuting it open but i dont have a welder does anyone no how much it will cost to get a garage to weld it back up
Providing you were to prep it yourself, ie grind it so theres no rust or paint where it needs to be welded, or you'll get whats called perocity (think of an aero bar), and providing its not like tissue paper (blowing through every 2 mins) I reckon you are looking at about 10 mins to tack it together and about 1/2 an hour ish to weld it, most garages would either use gas (oxy/acetelyne) or mig (wire) providing they can turn the amps down enough on the machine that is. So taking account that most garages nowadays charge around £35-£40, I would say £20-£25 would be a ball park figure.
All this info is for a mild steel or stainless exhaust, aluminium, is a different ball game.

thts what i got the one that feeds the wire thru the handle , but no gas , not that great it can be done with it tho , jus means grinding off the exess after n i aint got a grinder : (
Looking at that pic ross mate I would say no aswell mine has been done and you can see the weld much clearer when its been put back together, I wouldnt even bother with a garage in my opinion they will rip you off, get on the net or yellow pages and find someone local who does welding like I did much cheaper, done mine for like 20 quid, see if you can see in the pic below mate of where mine is welded has been sprayed over a few times!!!!!
Do look for yourself though mate inside the pipe your see the three collar looking bits which need to be dermaled out, does get on my nerves when people say its this and that when clearly it isnt, if yours Isssssssssssssss gutted then wow thats a spot on weld when they put it back together
