39mm carb jetting

i just got a dt 125 r its got a dep end can ,the carb is f***ed on it leaking every where and all the screws are a chewed up so thinking of putting a bigger carb on ,my m8 has a keihin 39mm flat side for sale for 60 quid but i duno what size jets ill need ?????

carb will be to big mate might wanna look into geting a 34/36mm off ebay a mikui one is only 60 new and btw you might wanna post in the noob section saying hello and indruciing your self a bit XD

im afraid nobody can tell you what size is needed, it takes some time to get it perfect. i drilled my main jet until it ran perfect and did a plug chop, standard main jet was 240 mikuni size(about 1.4mm) kept drilling it upto 1.6mm and that was just for cutting the top off the airbox, so might give u an idea.

 Also mine has the flat side 28mm carb

i have seen people fit a 38 mm so dint think a 39mm would make much difference ?????

yes sounds like a yz250 , but hard to hear the sound on video so cant show you.

 is it to big due to fitting into the inlet or just that the engine could not cope with a 39mm carb i have seen 38mm on a dt ????

i think cr250s and ktm 300exc have like 39 or 40mm carbs so puting it in a dt ull need a small jet so its pointless

 no i changed the baffle inside to make it louder lol

keihin 39mm is an fcr pumper carb for a 4 stroke, you cant fit em

most me m8s with rx or rs has but a 38mm on and 1 with a 40mm they sound sweet as !!! and pull real well i know a dt will never match the speed but no harm trying haha
