The poor spelling and sentencing alone was enough to make me LOL
hope you feel big n clever for saying that !!!!!!!!
Not as much as rebuilding many DTR's and never having my piston hit my powervalve..
1st rebild on a dt everyone makes mistakes
people like you just think they know it all, real big man!!!!! maybe you need to sort your own issues before you try and know other people down mag !!!!!!!!

Hi rob, take your exhaust off and have a look up the port it may help to give you an idea of what condition your piston is in. Try a compression test if you have access to a tester. If you suspect something has defo happened whip the barrel off and have a proper look. Was there any loss of power whilst you were out? :)
just for the record i know that somewhere on this forum there are 2 threads of people whos pistons have hit there powervalve after reboring, i think one power valve was in the wrong way round or something

there is compression and it was a non runner when i got it dont so dont no about the power, i got the week off work so ill have a look 2morz been painting the frame today :)
The edge of the piston will catch on the powervalve shaft if its been bored out over 1.5mm. Even then, it's close. once the piston has expanded (warmed up), your fuxed. Another issue is the head gasket protruding into the bore. Genuine gaskets compensate for a 1mm rebore, any higher it will need to be trimmed.
Mine is +2mm and i have had to shamfer down the shaft of the powervalve.
