If you was to do that mate I would just lob a yz125 full block in the dt frame and call it a good one till it needs a strip down which will be very soon!! :)
You want to put a 1983 YZ cylinder head on your DT?
what are you planning to gain?
more comprission n i wound but the 01 - 02 1 on if i did i was just useing the 1983 to show that you dont have the bumpey bit going around like on the 3bn
Surely the stroke of the engine differs? You'll likely find that if you bolted a YZ cylinder and head on, you'd end up mashing the piston into the head, or you'll end up with a massive squish gap and no compression.
To be completely honest, unless the engines were identical (which they aren't) I wouldn't bother risking it. the basic layout of the head will be the same (saves on initial design costs) the finished result will be vastly different.
That's just my two cents anyway.

There is only so much you will be able to do before it ends up costing you a small fortune mate. Honestly, if you really want to cram every ounce of power from it, fit one of the Athena 170cc kits on it.
Other available mods would be to get your head ported (as previously mentioned) bigger carb, aftermarket exhaust (or a gutted standard exhaust) airbox modifications, and changing your sprocket sizes.
Or pass your bike test and get a 250 2-stroke. Which in the long run will be cheaper.

hi, it might fit but the compression may be to high and the engine will start pinking, bend con rod and blow hole in the piston. the best way to raise compression is measure squish clearance. skimming over 0.4mm would be risky. or try running without a head gasket and use silicone instead.
