DT125R Gearbox drain bolt length question

Just unscrewed the gearbox drain bolt on the right hand side of my 2001 dt125r to drain the gearbox oil,it seems really long about 2 to 2 1/2 " long is this right ? as it won't pull out easilly as the rear brake lever's in the way, most drain screws i've encountered in the past are usually short and stubby.
