I must admit it was very daunting doing my rebuild. Its just remembering were everything goes. And not fecking the engine up after putting it back together. After you do it the first time it becomes a peace of piss. Hey GADGET my bike has 14k on the clock and was restricted till i got it, do you think my engine bearings need replacing?

just keep your ears out for the dreaded rumbble man
mine has done over 24,000 on its original bottom end and kicks arse man
its all about how its been treated not the milage so as yours was restricted until now its probs not had to work too hard in its life
if you get a vid in here ,nice and close with the mic,ill let you know what its sounding like ..but you gotta move the camera slowly as you let it rev up and down so i can hear top and bottom
thats the only way i can let you know realy

Have all the bits for the bike now. Just waiting for this poxy rain to stop lol. I will make a video of the bikes first start....thats if i dont have a piston sticking out of my forehead lol.
BTW got a halfords feeler gauge and measured my piston ring "end gaps" Im guessing the gaps are a tiny bit over 0.30mm and not 0.40mm sinch 0.40 wont fit in. Stupid gauge only goes up in steps of 10. It that a good measurement? Im guessing my gaps are about 0.34mm.
if you are gonna have your cylinder bored out ,get your piston and give it to your machinist and give him the specs before doing anything else .(if you need specs you can tell me the yeah of your engine and ill get it strait away)
just from the specs and piston he can machine it within tollerance and you will have a nice engine
let me know how far your goin into the lump
make sure you put your piston rings in the right way round man(the writing always goes on top ) and you have different shape rings in the pack, keystone etc
Its just the top end. The guys at PJME Motorcycles bored it out to 56.50mm and sold me a Mitaka oversize .50 piston and Rk rings to match. The lads at pjme measure and use the Mitaka piston and rings for their rebores. They charge you more if you supply your own piston. I was after a Wossner but it was breaking my budget. And the rings are the right way around, their kind of idiot proof to be honest. Just finished puting it all back together tonight.
