splutters at 7000 revs?

confusejust got a 2003 dt125 r nice looking bike 6500 miles on clock. starts great but seems to be chocking itself to start and the when warmed up splutters at 6000/7000 then ok at 8000 what could be the problem?no

try ajusting the needle height inside the top off the carb m8 either up or down one see if it cures it

thanks for that i will give it a go, bike run ok apart from that had it up to 75mph, standard bike apart from the dep pipe.

First things first change spark plug, I had this problem before!!!!!

My first point of call would be to change the spark plug.. As it's easier then fiddling with the carbs.
Plus the spark plugs are known to need changing regularly due to it being a 2 stroke..
If that doesn't work then you better give the carbs a once over too
