Alright guys i've got myself a major head scratching problem, basically my clutch cable snapped the other week so i've now replaced that, but first of when i've adjusted all the tension to max asin the one's by the lever and down by the hook it's still not engaging the clutch fully! took apart the clutch and theres nothing wrong with any of my plates and the push rod attached to the casing and the ball bearing is fine aswell! any help would be greatly appreciated! ( btw some things might need to be explained a bit more as i'm not exactly a master mechanic ) thanks in advance - Nath
The clutch shouldn't have had to be fully dismantled, just slacken off the cables at both ends, hold the clutch arm at the marking point on the other side of the engine and then tighten up the pushrod until you feel it push the pressure plate out a tiny bit and then wind it back until it's just about to push it out if you get me? Then put the locking nut on and rebuild it all setting up the clutch cable as before.. You should know how to set a clutch cable up correct? Also make sure there is 2-3mm of play in the lever or else it's TOO TIGHT!! Good luck, any problems report back..
Alright i'll give that a shot tommorow. did try it with manually holding the clutch arm fully back and it still wasn't disengaging in 1st, yet 6th was :/!
are the clutch plates all sat in nice an tight, did ya put all the friction an damper plates an ring back in the right order,, also the pushrod being right set it up before you tighten those springs up,,,, Listen to gincat m8 he's a clutch legend helped me out a few times now.
ok buy tightening the cable to the max it "disengages" the clutch, if your clutch cable snapped it means the clutch is always engaged, do you mean it won't disengage when you pull the lever??, if the clutch cables not geniune there usually rubbish in my experience (wemoto)
Yeah all the plate's and dampers were put back in the right order and everything :( - well im fully pulling the lever on with the adjusters all at the maximum possible and i can't turn the wheel asif i could if the clutch was working if you get me :/ as i said im not exactly the mechanic of the year :P best way i can explain it, i'll make a video of it tommorow and try to explain a bit better :)
Update on it: - Reopened the clutch housing and checked the pushrod's the left hand one doesnt seem to want to come out when im using a magnatised piece of metal as i don't have the room to take the engine off from the bike, anybody got any ideas on what i can do? as i think the pushrod is bent or morphed :(
put both rods an bearing in m8 pull the lever an check the rods movin in an out freely.. Also the cluch arm lifts out if you release the spring. probably not the best way but. Shoot an unloaded 2.2 air gun down the clutch arm hole an a bit of blue tac to seal it ( on the lever side ) the rod came flying out when i did mine lol

I can't get the inner rod out tho :( using a strong magnet to get too it it's just not pulling, took out the clutch arm too, also i don't have any bb guns :(
Left as in left when your sat on the bike? For some unknown reason the left one (when your sat on your bike) is called the right hand pushrod and the clutch side is the left hand pushrod, unless there was a malfunction at the haynes factory
Anyways the clutch side only 1 pushrod should come out as far as i'm aware, and behind that is a bearing, and then behind that is the other side of the pushrod that intertwines with the clutch arm
The problem you seem to be telling us is that the bike is locked up, won't move no matter what you do with the clutch yes? If so check the gear lever and see if it can change gear, if it doesn't then it's stuck between gears or the springs inside the left hand casing (clutch side) may have become stuck/lodged
I've had that problem many times and just had to force the gear arm thing back into place..
i blew my dt up ... but i fixed it.... Then i crashed it.... but i didnt fix it right and 2 scouser's come in the middle of the night and left me with a working bike
