well i sold my dtr at the start of the year an had a car so havent been on the site for ages but iv now bought the bike back again so im back on here :) any way its a 1989 and the engine was completely knackerd so i had a look around an managed to find a full 2002 set up that had been in an accident 6years ago so its obviously not been started for a wile, iv fitted the engine ypvs servo and loom + switch gear,,, kicked it up and it just wont rev up iv cleaned the carb out an still nothing and cuts out when of choke, iv orderd a new plug so il try that when it comes, is there anything i could do with checking? any help appreciated
Iv tryed another carb but that as crap as the 1 that waas on it both have mixture screws rounded of so can't evan mess with that, the bikes ticking over fine as soon as I touch the throttle it cuts str8 out :/
when thats happen on my otherbikes its usually the reeds are broken or not sealing
i have a dtre carb for sale (no choke on it but i can fit a tzr cable choke) the airscrew is rounded but in a good running position, all complete with standard componants
Good carbs but they cud have done the mixture different, iv got a round side carb I'll just have to try and find the washe for the pin an give that ago
Yh iv got them out atm they look fine :/ the engine is un abused an un messed with its a real minter just the fact its stood for 6years it needs a good running, to start with petrol was coming out of every pipe on the carb but stopped after I cleaned it out
if yours is runnin with the choke on m8 what i did with a similar problem on a bike engine that hadnt run in a while was tied the choke up an used it like that till the engine had a bit off use then it just sorted itself out..

I'm havein another carb later so hopefully that sorts it :) an yh there used to be a fue more I met up with a fue, we will have to have a meet or sumat :)
