well i just left my house riding my bike an returned pushing it, i was doing around 60 and it just cut out i lost my neutral light etc it was like i just turned the key of wilst i was riding (but i didnt).. got back gome and a wire was of 1 end of my fuse so i put it back on and iv got my clock lights back on but my ypvs is not engageing when i turn the ignition on and the bike wont start... has my cdi blown?? greatful for any help

sounds like your fuse has blown ? did u actually check ? haha

I checked the fuse mate my oil light etc comes on now so the fuse is sounds, I know that the ypvs is powerd by the cdi and its not doing its cycle when I turn ignition on and it won't fire up

battery gone? but it could still power the clocks

do you think it could have blown the powervalves motor ,,, mine has . check the wires under your key slot too m8 give it a wiggle lol

There isn't a spark mate :/ everything points to cdi from what i can see just wanted to be sure before I buy 1, iv now realised how hard it is to come across a cdi haha

what age is ya dt m8 an which cdi does it have ,,,, stick ya finger up the spark cap an give it a kick see what happens

Its a 1989 but I converted everythin from a 2002 so has all the 2002 running gear with the cdi on the 2stroke botel, iv tested it for a spark an there's nothing, if I stick my finger in the cap it will find a spark from sumwer I have rotten luck lol

iv not got that one m8 sorry , on lookin i do have a early 5 wired servo cdi tho i may try that on mine cos 3wired servo motors aint easy or cheap to find

I'm from stoke-on-trent mate + mines the 5wire servo mate I tryed to find a 3wire servo wen I was useing my old runnin gear and they are like rockin horse sh*t lol

Managed to get a cdi today plugged it in and still nothing :/ no servo operation and no spark iv tryed unpluging the servo and kicking it and still no spark so can't be the servo causeing the problem, can't see it being the ignition as its only to weeks old and it turns everything else on :/ its got me well puzzeld, anyone have any suguestions??

sounding like your going to have to trace all the wires and find a dodgy conection. actually, try reearthing the electrics

Iv taken the look of and stripping all the tape of it tomoro so I can have a nosey I'll re-earth it when I put it back on :)

Iv checked the loom and can't see a problem with it, when I turn the ignition on there's a little clicking sound from the neutral switch (little white box thing) is it suposed to click? I'm just looking through my haynes atm to see if that can give me an idea to the problem

Done mate :/ its got me speechless, I'm guessing its because the wire touched the frame when it come apart from the fuse houseing as it was loom side that broke not battery :/

could also be coil or stator you need to get the voltmeter on it, if still no luck

All sorted now lads :) wires had burnt. On the exhaust and touched the frame and blu my cdi and when i plugged my other cdi in and kicked it over it blu that aswel, so had to buy another 1 65quid, i took it to a guy on my estate and he sorted it all out for me as hes the dogs nuts when it comes to dts, just glad its sorted now :)
