Hi, I have a DTX125 2007 model, I have seized the engine and so I require a new barrel and piston. Does anybody know what different engines could fit onto my bike? or where I can get a new barrel and piston? ( Money is tight ATM ) Thanks alot.
yeah you shouldn't need a new barrell unless it's cracked or warped too far to be re-skimmed. Get the barrell off, give it a few upward whacks if you need to seperate it from the piston but careful not to jar it from side to side and damage the con-rod or big end bearing. Then get you're barrel re-bored (£25 - £40) an oversize piston kit to suit and a top end gasket set and you're all good. Shouldn't cost more than £120 all in.
