As 'luck' would have it though, the bike has been running like a bag o crap today, so whipped off the carb for a closer look. That hole doesn't seem to serve any purpose (there's certainly not meant to be a screw in there by the looks of it)
Anyway, see if you can spot why my bike was only running with the choke on
Emptied a can of carb cleaner on it afterwards and cleaned the whole thing up like new

err theres a big chunk of ****e in the main jet lol and the a/f mixture screw is jus below the top spigot of the little grey pipe on the first pic look slike its full of ****e n stuff or its been rounded off try digging out what ever is in there, i aint got a clue what that other hole is on the second pic
The blanked off hole in the other side is a tick over screw hole, it's there because Yamaha / Other Japanese manufacturers use them on different models. If they were use for a twin you'd need to have the tick over screws on opposite sides, thats why. Possibly used on the TZR 250? I duno? But it would explain it.
