my dtr so far
managed to get jumped and loose my phone so ive only got pics of what its like now and my account only just got approved lol
heres how i bought, it was in a bit of a state but it had a ypvs and it was red so i had to have it, set me back 570
just noticed it looks alot better in the pics than it did in flesh and someone had took a paint brush and painted the frame and swingarm
heres how it sits now
stripped it down to bare frame and had it powdercoated then rebuilt it, replacing everything that was siezed or ****ed and cleaned all the rest up. replaced eveything rusty on the bike and new bolts all round.
just waiting on a wheel spindle no then i can get the back wheel as someones put a spindle too short so it doesnt fit unless the chain adjusters are removed
bought this crankcase with a missing stud and the thread had been double threaded and without realising i went to put in a new stud and it went in at an angle. had to get it welded and this is how it came back
then i started grinding it down with a dremel and this is how it ended up, the bubbles are from the welding. he did say the stuff he used was a bit **** to work with but wasnt expecting bubbles
Oh no that was just comparison, I don't own one. Wish I did haha.
I scoured the Internet for pics of the porting as I was going to port my own barrel to similar specs. I did actually learn quite allot. I've still got port maps and port window specs but the bike had to get put in storage for a while and I've only just started working on it again but decided I'm just going to give my spare barrel to mick abbey. That's why I mentioned in the other thread I wanted to have the head machined to take o rings.
