Yet another Clutch cable!

Well yet again my clutch cable decided to snap and by the looks of it my clutch arm has also decided to break, this is the second time this has happened in the last 2-3 months. theres got to be an underlying issue with this and i'm lost with what to do, anyone got any ideas? starting to really get aggregrated with the bike now :(

Nothing inside can cause it to go man, just if you set it too tight. Has to be the actual quality of the cable you use.

I've never had a clutch cable fail on me yet.. Multiple DTR's later
Make sure you have 2-3mm freeplay in the lever or else IT'S TOO TIGHT!!

Had one fail on me once, changed bars and routed it the wrong way when I put it back on, caused it to strech when I turned to the left, the @@@@er snapped on me whilst I was revving the balls off at a T junction, dumped the clutch, pulled a wheelie and ended up NEARLYYYYY getting taken out big time by a car from the side, luckily had my thumb over the kill switch so I didnt hit the car on the other side of the road, oil your clutch cable up more, use genuine and make sure it doesn't do anything when you steer right and left, if it does you have it too tight or badly routed, easily done and not allways obvious.

i'll make sure i get it spot on this time i think. Yeah gato i had a few problems routing it last time but i'm guessing i just put it too tight as i was constantly adjusting it to get it perfect for me just must have messed up. Sounds scary dude! i pulled a stonker of a wheelie and as soon as she dropped snap goes my cable :( 3rd gear low high revvs no clutch cable wasnt the best feeling in the world haha!

Hmmm im on my third clutch cable in 13 months...where did it snap? at the lever? was it a cleanish cut through the cable? and then if its yes to those...have you dropped your bike on the left hand side?? or perhaps previous owner did. i dropped mine off road and in doing so, bent the bracket that the clutch level slots into. Only a bit...but what was happening was the lever had slight vertical play when being used and this was sheering the cable against the bracket it slots into. so i tighted the the lever slot so the lever was a very snug fit, lubed the shlt out of it and it seems all good now! also deffo use gen yammy cable!

:o, erm first was was an ultra clean cut at the clutch arm that was an OEM cable, 2nd was in the same place but not as clean a cut, i'll fish out a picture tommorow but this one wasn't a OEM one, previous owner hadn't dropped it, i've only dropped it on the right hand side, about 457373 times not big spills tho :D
