I though it would be fair to share some pictures of my project as I saw many good ideas here on this forum. The base is a 1995 DT200R. We never had the DT125R here in Canada.
The bike wasn't running when I bought it last year. The engine was in boxes. Transmission problems apparently. I had a reliable mechanics to make a full rebuilt (used Wiseco piston at second oversize), including a few performance mods as a mild porting of the cylinder, shaved head, reed cage porting. I'll use a WR200 FMF fatty exhaust system and silencer with it.
Here are the pics...
Starting point
New frame color
All powdercoated bits
Supermotard wheels mounted
brake parts
Engine ready to come back in the frame
Engine just reinstalled
Fitting test of FMF pipe
It start looking like a bike again
I still have a lot to do but the plan is to complete the project and make it run before winter.
that is Mint, what carb are you putting on, v-force reeds?
did you get your fairings from portugal?
I'll use the original carb with some bigger jets. I bought Boyesen reeds on ebay but they don't fit on the cage. There is a lot of confusion about the parts number here. In USA, they only have the WR200 model for one year but it's often called DT200. Here in canada, we just had the DT200R 89-95 but never the WR200. Yes, I bought all fairings from portugal. It was money well spent, even if the fit is not 100% thou. I found the information here. Also plan to trim the seat foam to match the rear fender.
theres also the dt200wr, wr200 rd, dt230 lanza, all similar
wr200 reeds should fit, i was asking about the carb as its the same as a dt125 (tm28ss) and is very small even for a 125 considering yz125 have 36-38mm carbs
ever find a 200 top end, let the people on here know, its gold dust
that looks sexy as hell allready mate haha how common are dt 200's in canada? i wonder how much it would cost to import one
They are not so common at all. That's why I wanted one. Most of people who drive a dual purpose prefer bigger 4 stroke like XL600 or DR650. We don't often see supermoto either. We only see DRZ400 or WRX250 on the road. I think the DT200 is the last two stroke dual purpose in Canada.
That's looks real nice, looks like you've spent some money and not cut any corners. Look forward to see the end result.
I'm sure it will cost more than the selling price, new in 1995 LOL. I don't do this on a budget. I just want a special, unique bike at the end of the project.
really liking this man. proper job, thats crazy with the 2t in the frame like that i know honda xr's have there engine oil in the frame but 2t oil? thts mad lol id like the twin rad setup on mine as im running pre-mix so no need for the empty 2tbottle jus sitin there using valuble space for summink else lol, how much wer thos rims aswell m8 and wer they from canada aswell?
btw i think the rear brake fluid res is sposed to go jus above wer the rear brake switch mounts? its like this on the 125 but not 100% most likey same as the 125 tho
edit: ah yea you moved it lol
oh yea and that fmf pipe is luuuuush! lol

Where did you get your spokes from ??
I bought the outer rims on ebay. Both 3.50 X 17. I fitted BT-003 120-70-17 front and 140-70-17 rear. There is not enough space for chain guard anymore. The spokes ? Well, I asked here and did a lot of seach on the net but didn't find any answer. I sent the hubs and rims to a specialized company in USA named Buchanan. They made custom spokes to fit. It would have cost less to buy wheels from another model and have them fitted. But I had the hubs powdercoated at the same time, put new bearings in, spokes are stainless and won't rust anymore, so I guess it worth it!
It would be a pleasure to share any information.
We are probably nuts but at least, we are not alone!
Where are you from?

Buchanan is the place I was going to try as soon as I receive my rims, they make custom spokes which is great.
You're right Seiki, SS spokes is what I was looking for.
I'm from Montreal.
No kidding! I'm from Montreal too. Ile-des-soeurs to be specific. I though I would be the only road legal two strokes Supermotard at least in Montreal. I guess my project is not so unique after all LOL.
Small world it is, this is very surprising, it took me months to find an half decent 200, they are very rare and mainly are used as dirtbikes = highly destroyed like mine.
We'll definitely have to meet once we're finished.
nice solid lever there dude will feel alot better than the stock one as u wont have any play in the end bit that pivots, jus dont drop it on that side! lol
