fink its ur cdi mate my 1st 1 did that just coughd n spluttered at 7000rpm n wudnt go over checkd the wiring it itd been snipd n bodge everywere including wires to reed switch so sent it back mite be worth trying new cdi if u can find 1 cheap
Power valve seemed to be turning the wrong way so crossed the cables over and it seems to go to about 8500 -9000rpm and is pulling wheelies when the power band comes in. Not much bottom end now though but can live with that. Sounds 10 times better now. Sure the neighbours will love it at 5am every morning

Try going through that powervalve set up link I put up on here, if you do it step by step, you'll have the powervalve set up so it goes all the way from low to high revs as it ought to
