Best place to position throttle cable?

Ok so warmed bike up and took it for a blast. Turning left and bike over revs and pulls and such.

Got home and the throttle cable has been placed inside the handlebar riser things. So when straight it's ok but turn left and it bends back on itself making it stretch cable and over rev/pull away with clutch out a bit.

Is it best to remove handle bar risers and take cable out and just let it free out the front? Never really took notice of a bike where it is ment to be.

Well don't have a pic now as have removed handle bars and moved it around. Having it going over the front and down left side of the fort made it get stuck on the front plastic then turning left. Have put it from brake lever to straight over handlebar and down back and then it feeds under petrol tank. This is best positioning i could get but still catches a little but not took bike out to try as it's a bit loud for this time of night in my little court.

I could be wrong here, but when I had this problem on mine, the cable wasnt genuine, once I brought a genuine one from yammy dont have this problem anymore, but as Bradders says ***** u want the cable to be as straight as possible and free from getting caught up anywhere***** pain in the ass I know

Chances are that could be correct. Bike looks to have been abused and HPI checks and insurance quotes come back with no details. Dvla said they had details though so only a V62 was needed to obtain log book.

Take a pic mate of your throttle cable (close up) of the centre bit what joins in the middle, will beable to tell straight away if its genuine or not

What do you mean in the middle? If you mean middle area of the cable then i can't as it is tucked under tank. I do see a join a few inches from coming out of throttle tube if that's what you mean?

Oh right. Just checked and can't see it so i presume it is under the tank. Will have to remove tank tomorrow. Can't ATM as kids in house and too dark to go outside.

As you can see it goes straight under tank and not visible when looking under it.

loosen the throttle housing and rotate it back have the throttle cable running over the top of the mastercylinder mate, less of a kink on it then wont wear and fray/snap, then loop it round behind tthe num plate and pass it thru one side of the head stock and fork legs

same with all cables make sure there in a nice flowing direction with no tight turns, then when all connected make sure nothing happens when the engines runbning and you flic the bars,  dont want to be wheeling when u come to make a turn ha ha

Ok well i don't want t strip tank until loom comes as my house is a busy house so leaving parts around will only cause issues with losing them. I will order a new throttle cable, Clutch cable and then i can reposition throttle tube holder and add the cables once loom is getting fitted.

I'm pretty sure the bike is not worth £900 but that's how much bike and money into it upto now has cost. Suppose in the end the finished product will be worth it.
