yeah on the new 03 engine would run for half hour then wouldnt run at all opend the head up and found this lol barrel needs a re sleave due to the chip outta the wall so im having my old barrel bored out to 58.90mm from standard should have it running sweet by the end of next week
Shame m8 its always good to have spare bits aint it im always up an runnin again in a few hours.. same sorta thing just happend to me on a new rebore, i know how ya feel. Think mine was my own div head fault tho either old piston pieces outta my zaust got sucked into the chamber or i ran it to lean using the middle needle clip in the carb no damage to my cylinder luckily but my heads gone a bit like yours
I was told a plug chop is when you rag the bike up to 3rd or 4th gear then while the engine is still at high revs, hit the kill switch and pull the clutch in, then once stopped, check the plug. That way you get an accurate reading of the plug when the engine is under load, and at most risk of going wrong.
Some say that a true plug chop entails a cutting off of the threads to reveal the white porcelain insulator at its base , the colour is revealed as a band a few mm thick at the base .
Yep full wack then chop the Throttle and clutch it ,also the colour should be checked right down in th hole not the tip, only racers would cut a plug down for a realy good look but they r highly tunned lumps
