How long is fine to leave engine before starting it up?

Since i used to have field bikes i used to always start it up and use it daily.

This DTR needs work so it isn't getting used, It's stuck in kitchen.

Engine hasn't been started for about 1 week as awaiting new loom.

Are there any effects from leaving it standing for so long?

flush the carb out with petrol and leave it empty undo the drain screw as crystalls can form

drain the tranny oil as theres a chemical reaction caused by the clutch plates if its left in for long periods, turn the engine over every so ofter with the kick start it will be fine for when ever long

mi mates dad has a 1970 trials bike that wasnt started for 25 years, changed fluids new plug & petrol and it fired up after a lil tinkering

if there stored fine then theres no problem smile
