it smells like gear box oil but not to much i dont think its two stroke only thing i can think of is putting some uv fluid in the two stroke tank and seeing if its detectable if not then it must be gear box

after a quick overall inspection ive noticed there is a fair bit of oil in my coolant tank. just had it rebuilt about 2000 miles and it runs perfectly which suggests gaskets should be ok.

before i had it rebuilt there was oil in the coolant tank as the head gasket blew which suggests maybe just a bit of excess oil still left in the system ?

When you say oil you mean like mayonaise, or oil, oil,?

take the tank off and give it a good clean out with petrol then hot soapy water, get all the residue out, chances are if its had oil in system b4 it can take ages to get out, can you see the colour swirls in the water?

head gasket or wp seal normal buggers that let go

theres no bearing oin the shaft either so if the housing has worn the sdhaft can wabble sending the casing bore out of round and same to the seal smile
