That looks gorgeous mate.

Word of advice though. Is that a big one exhaust. Best off binning that one and pay the extra for a dep. Those bigones are useless.

Other than that they look really sweet.

Big one front pipe is just going to be for setting up the engine etc, I'll get and fit a DEP when I get a chance.  The big one came with the DEP back exhaust so will use it for now.

Word of advice...scrap the dep. Not worth the metal they're made out of LMAO! Amazing how opinions change. They're nice pipe definitely, just cheap metal. Really hard for it not to rust, even mine has spots of rust and I'm mad about keeping it clean....grrr. I've gone Stainless Steel now :D Cheaper than the DEP.

I like the progress mate. I get the feeling this is just an escapism for you. It's nice to see you take the time and not rush it. Will have somethign really special when it's finished.

Cheers for the advice. I will have a look at other exhaust systems for bike 2. Calum - do you ACF your DEP front pipe? Do you think this might pro long it' s life?

Andy - The spokeguardz are a complete unknown, so will have to wait and see. I think for bike two I am going to get either a straight new set from Yamaha or will try and source some powder coated or coloured ones from central wheel supplies or similar.

This is the best thing about building two bikes - build the first one as best you can then build the second one better.

I don't use ACF but I use GT85 on it after most uses and every use in the rain. Fail lol.

Stainless spokes it is. Turns out the wheels for the white bike are fecked so I'm in the market for a set of stainless spokes for a 2001 yz 250 front wheel, a standard rear dt wheel and a complete front and back set for the small wheels for the blue bike. Anyone any ideas on where to get them from or will it have to be yamaha raiding my wallet again?

BTW scrim - gaiters should be with you soon.
