get a dremel with a small drill bit in it, drill down the centre of the brass screw untill ur about 3-4 mm deep, then get a small flat screw driver or a torque bit driver (one u use for phones) and tap it in to the hole in the screw then keep it presses towards the screw and wind it out
mine was same when i got it mate
then aj sutton for a screw cost about £14

Carb doesnt need runnin in m8 if you aint had a engine rebuild or piston change!

All standard dt carbs will fit and as to jetting just swap from your old carb or try fitting the new one as your soon tell if the jetting is wrong as the engine will splutter or will have a flat spot going thru the revs, and you can put a new plug in and do a plug chup after 20 miles should be a nice tan colour if black to lean need a bigger jet ect

Worth doin your research as getting the jetting right is critical for engine life and performance

And no one can say the exact size you need as all engines carbs and set ups are diffrent trail end error is key

In my experience

But your better of going down norths route

just be care full, once drilled and you have a driver wedged in, warm up the area with a blow tortch, make sure its empty of petrol tho may want to dunk it in a water bath 1st b4 putting a flame on it, alloy will expand then and make the screw come out easier

theres a mikuni tuning guide but its for the vm series, the tuning would still be the same just the fuel system a little different
