ring shining ?? double gasket :/
Permalink

sup guys not been on in a whille moved out and didnt have internet and been too busy fannying around with the bike nd cars

BUT

after my first rebuild of the DT turned out that using cheap and nasty oil has caused me a los of compression ( a lot ) one of my friends asked if the rings were shiny and said this was a problem :/

but i thought with them moving constantly this would happen lol but ive never heard of it before and just wanted to bust this "myth"

AND i was considering a double barrel gasket to attempt to create a bigger squish more travel in piston etc but i reckon such a thing doesnt exsist or gasket would result in blowing if stacked just a theory maybe retarded but was just a thought any feedback would be swish :D

thnx

rings do polish with running time, this is why the cylinder must be honed to make a good sealing surface

adding another base gasket will just lift the cylinder and lower compression

what u wanna do is ges some of the thinnest gasket paper you can fine, (ebay)

this will raise the compression alittle

but if you have used crap oil then thats your own daft fault lol

for the sake of a tenner for some good oil u may have to rebuild your engine.....use good oil and do at least a gentle break in on the new build
