clutch release arm stopped working

As title says it felt like a pop when i pulled the clutch in i thought the cable had snapped but it was fine i noticed the clutch release arm had lifted up by about 3cm and you can just push around with you finger it does not seem to be connected to the push rod can anyone help.

just disconect the cable off it mate then rotate the arm twards the back wheel abit and it should push back down and it should seat in the bottom of the hole then when its pushed all way down it should feel like its working again when it stops on the push rod

Thanks for the quick reply is there a bearing in there or something i was also wondering why it would happen in the first place the bikes covered 23000 miles and i have had the bike since 4500miles and its never happened before is it possible something in there is worn out thanks

the arm sits in a needle roller bearing then its semicircle at the bottom and sits on the push rods, theres a ball bearing in the middle of the push rods

if it wont go down try laying the bike down on the right hand side this will let the push rods & bb fall to the right so the arm will drop down, iv never had one doit so **** tell u just make sure the arm is pusshed allway down when u put it back in and the spring is on correctly

u can see the push rods and ball bearing inside the main shaft

I tried this but it still did not work so i took the clutch push rod out and the throw out bearing was fooked it was about half the size and and had two big chunks taken out of it. where does the thin washer go when putting the clutch basket back in cheers
