I'm back!!

Been a longtime, busy and ill

Anyway I have a new plan, just bought a tm34ss, and getting zeeltronic to make a cdi for me

 Carbs from a rs250

http://img248.imageshack.us/img248/959/09062009316.jpg

Like this one,  I belive the oil feed is on the carb

Hopefully get it on Tuesday, also has anyone used a ultra sonic. Cleaner?  Works well so I may Invest

I've used an ultrasonic cleaner for my carb. Good luck buying one that'll fit it nicely though. The smallish ones you can pick up cheap. Then they make a massive leap in price. Worked well for me though. Saying that can't beat a bit of carb cleaner and some elbox grease.

What size is that mate. Can easily pick up a 4dl inlet manifold like me that will take a 32mm standard carb.

It's 40mm I believe,  the 4dl has a different angle I believe

But May be an option, :)

Hmm didn't think about angle. It looks the same but i suppose it only takes a few mm :/. I got mine with the engine.

40mm sounds a bit too big. There is something i read about having too big a carb will adversely affect performance. It's to do with pressures and the vacuum created during the cycle. Too large a carb reduces the pressure since P=F/A the bigger the area the smaller the pressure.

It even had dynos showing the difference.

is the spigot the air intake. In which i don't know about that size

How much do you want for the 4dl manifold?

And looks like the 2stroke oil mixes in the float bowl :s

It's effect is felt with two strokes two. I read it in a two stroke tuning book by graham bell.

Might bore it to 36mm haha

The only reason that could be the case is if the fuel doesn't vaporize proper if the vacuum was so weak

Text directly from the book.

"Obviously the choice is yours When it comes to selecting a carburettor, do heed to my advice Regarding the size to use. Always remember that the carburettor meters the fuel according the signal In the fuel bowl. No matter how well-designed a carburettor to largely engine produces and weak signal consequently the metering system cannot function correctly.

To illustrate this you might like to try a simple experiment. Fill a container with water and draw water water up through drinking straw. Then draw the water through piece of 3/4 inch hose. Did you notice how much more sucking you have to do to get the water flowing up the piece of hose"

Used siri to get this up sorry errors.

And also a 34 is fine. But i'd say 40 was too bug.

The YZ125 runs a 38mm carb. It does have more compression though and so will be able to suck more. Remember hes got a 200cc barrel on though.

Yeah but 200cc isn't that much bigger really.

The YZ puts out more power than those DT200R's I thought.

One problem is the adjuster on the carburetor doesn't match my throttle cable, need to find a fix, I tried using the one on my old carb but it's a press fit, my new ones threaded

That's what I had to get sorted for mine TOWIE, local bloke made me one up for a tenner, there will be someone near you can do the same if they have cable making facilities.

Been reading this, now I thought that there was a oil connection on this carburetor,  looks that I need to blank off the two nipples that have black rubber hoses on in this article, they were for some solenoid system,

Nearly got this wrong

Still not 100%

Blanked off the air hoses on the carb

Still waiting for my bent adjuster to arrive

My £45 throttle cable was previously modifed for the old carb

SoI bought a cheap one and replace just the carburetor cable,,  which is a nice short cut

Bad news is the 25yr old yz air boot had perish, so I have designed my own induction mod, with silicone hoses ,Hopefully get this finished soon so I can play with my zeeltronic ;)

That's very clever. Although....looks shít! Don't get me wrong I was thinking the same thing about my bike. Perhaps maybe blue so it's a little less obvious.

And I was thinking more samco hose kinda thing.

They do a better quality version, that was the crappy version, you hardly see it tbh,  just need some coolant and fuel,  then I can start playing with jets and the cdi
