Have 03 dtr done al derestriction bt stil slow wil nly do 65 on a gud day seems to misfire alot in high revs n strugles av tried 2 new plugs n pt brand new cap on sum1 said it cud b ht lead so went out in dark gt it warm n rev it looking under tank there was no flash frm ht lead or coil bt wear the plug screws into head a blue ring glows the more I rev ive bin to 3 bike garages n thev al said theyve never herd of that so am prety stumpd ani ideas lads?

had bike 6 months and has been running great (would) will do 75 plus up untill saturday just gone checked as much as poss had carb off stripped and cleaned put it back together ran fine 5 miles ride out it started to play up again only revs to 6000 then seems to miss fire ??? still ridable but not up to scratch just feel a bit stupid riding it as every time i get to 6000 it starts missing
again tonight i went out on bike ran fine once again after 3-5 miles then started playing up again any ideas plz
THINK THE MAIN PROBLEM IS YOU BOUGHT O3 BIKES OR ANY AFTER 1999 LOL . SORRY IT HAS TO BE SAID THAT any dtr after 1999 is slow eu restricted snails

[bt wear the plug screws into head a blue ring glows] how you mean a blue ring glows ? do you mean you kinda see the blue spark around the plug ? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgzHsDBAwdE is it a good tight fit or is there play in any way where it screws in ? sounds silly but have seen yung uns try other plugs in bikes that was to large and made the hole a little bit bigger or bad threads ?
is your plug screwd all the way in . if a thread is damaged lower down it may seem tight but not realy be all the way in [so you will see the blue flash on out part of head] pls dont try extream force to make sure its all way down . a good visual check should do to confirm this

I don't know why your bikes are so ****. My bike does an indicated 80mph + on flat! It is also still restricted! Pulls nicely in every gear. Only problem now is that it is losing power.
I'm not lying honestly my bike seems to be alright. Nothing compared to my RS but 55-60 is just shocking. When I change into 6th i'm doing 60mph. From there I can scream another 20mph out of it. I'm not one to brag about these things.
I know from past I have owned almost every dtr year made {just not the red -gray} and most did 75-80 easy as standard . know loads of lads who have riden with or who have owned any dtr after 1999 and they all ride like yamaha sr 125.s lol and scream to get a good 65 downhill ..
I did have a great pdf on full derestricting that had all the standard tips in but some others I never heard of ?
I know one said there was a dummy bulb/reed switch hidden in the clocks that was linked to the cdi ? that registerd when the bike was hitting to mush speed it bogged it down and slowed the bike ????? { may be bs }
HI, New plug coil lead suppressor cap and bingo all seems ok I,m guna change coil as well i,ve one orderd should be with me for this w-ends ride out (bike sat in garage stripped down once again waiting for coil )

Hope you havent ordered one of those coils from Cardiff Motorcycles, coz if you have it wont fit, and you'll need to send it back,theres a few in here been caught by them recently.
