Finally decided to put DT back together as summers almost here. Open up the engine today and find this lol. Top Racing crank around 3 months old. Avoid.
Farnham has my OEM one rebuilding it and I wont be touching Top Racing again
hole crap dude =0 id give wer it came form a call and say looks this is takeing the micky =0 and your keeping your dt XD and going to come out and play when its warm XD
Yeah we had a feeling it was the crank but wasn't 100% till today. I called Adrenalin a couple months ago but they wanted me to send it for analysis etc and I couldn't be asked.
Forgot about the DT for the past few months but yeah i'll have it for summer man, should be fixed by next week.
It was still being run in tbh, didn't really push it.
It always felt a bit dodgy though so i'm glad it's a cut and dry case. Thought oil pump wasn't working but theres oil everywhere so it's just a crap crank
How do you mean which kit mate? I bought a second hand crank off Bradders and that's what Farnham is currently rebuilding. Stripping the engine and putting it back together isn't that bad tbh. As long as you have the correct tools and a little help when needed
Apparently the pin was too tight, the bearing isn't seized or anything it was just a clean break.
The crank was just a £100 Top Racing one, £200 cheaper than OEM but i'd have better off just buying a new one.
Nightmare yesterday, crank was fit to wrong casing, taking the main bearing with it. all sorted now and should be back on road when some gaskets come in.
Its supposed to be stronger than the standard one i heard. i was considering buying one to fit with my 170cc, Now im glad i just got a new standard crank !
